Welcome to my busy February!
Most of you all know February is a busy, busy month for me.
Full of family birthdays, work training, and more.
Come take a look at what has transpired thus far for me this busy February!
Remember me telling you all that my friend Barb
surprised me with another gift in my last post?
She made not 1, but 2 versions of the same
quilt from her Scrap Block Lotto win!
She made this one specifically for my
beautiful mother!
Scrap Club hosted by Kevin the Quilter has a
Scrap Block Lotto during our meetings.
This block was from the month of September.
Last September is when my Momma had
her health scare and was in the hospital.
It happened about the same time as our
final reveal with Scrap Club.
Barb thoughtfully stitched this version of
those blocks with my dear Mom in mind.
Momma was THRILLED when she opened this
beautiful quilt, and, she obviously loves it!
THANK YOU SO MUCH BARB!
From me AND my Mom!
What lovely heirlooms you have gifted us with!
I was able to celebrate my mom and nephew's
birthdays with them!
I think it is so special that mom celebrates her
birthday with her grandson.
Look at how big and handsome that 15 year old boy is getting!
SLOW DOWN TIME PLEASE!!!!!!
My Lil' Bubs is turning into my Big Bubs!
I have been feeling blue lately........
IN A GOOD WAY!!
Our project for this session of
Scrap Club hosted by Kevin the Quilter is
"Tree Inspired."
Hmmmm......blue trees........
I wonder what I may be up to here???
LOLOLOL
A blue whirlwind!
is coming to visit the quilters of
Scrap Club hosted by Kevin the Quilter
in O'Fallon, Missouri!
She will be sharing her trunk show
and views on scrap quilting!
If you are interested in meeting her, seeing her works,
and joining us, look for the information at the
bottom of this blog post!
And here is a shout out to my dear friend Cherie of
for the beautiful donation of fabrics she made!
I dug into them so quickly and sorted them into their
appropriate bins I forgot to take a photo!
But, most of them will be used for
Quilts of Valor, Eastern Missouri!
Thanks again Cherie!
And my good ole quilting pal Alycia of
sent me some inspiration to read while I fly!
Go check out her latest blog post!
No, really......it's super cool how she is sharing quilting
with young people!!!!!
You go girl!
Oh dear!
Another year as a flight attendant!
Never fear.....I am not in distress.......
just thankful I made it through another year of
training! My 18th year is in the books now!
WHEW!!
I couldn't have done it without my good friend Sam!
She and I love to work together, and we ALWAYS
do our recurrent training together.
Thanks Sammy Wammy!

An Elna Supermatic!!!!!
I received this beautiful gift from an
anonymous donor......you know who you are!
And, I can't believe I get to play on this machine now!
I have ALWAYS thought this particular model of
I have ALWAYS thought this particular model of
sewing machine is somewhat masculine in it's appearance
and style! I am currently working on this machine and
getting it in running order!
YAHOOOOOOOOOOO!
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!!!!!!
And, before I go, I would like to share with you all
some photos of the wonderful
"Sorta, Kinda Amish"
workshop I shared with the
St. Louis Star Quilt Guild!
Why do we take a workshop?
Hopefully it is to expand our horizons, and learn
something new?
That's exactly what this workshop was all about!
I couldn't be more proud of those who stepped
I couldn't be more proud of those who stepped
out of their comfort zones and tried something new!
Pammy Cakes (her nickname) on the right organized this workshop
and I just love her and this group.
Continued prayers for you Pammy!
The quilter on the left????
Well......she surprised me with these bags of
SCRAPS!!!!!!!!!!
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!!!!!!
I wasn't the least bit excited as you can plainly see.
The quilters really ran with the idea of making the
string strata required
for this technique based workshop.
Chatting and sewing are so much fun!
Everyone was really busy sewing in this workshop!
Bouncing ideas off one another.
The quilter standing in the center of
this photo has been quilting all of 5 months!
Hooray for her!
I couldn't be more proud of her!
Welcome aboard quilter!
Welcome aboard!
What a fun group that gathered for the workshop!
Oh, and there was a potluck too!
YAHOOOO!

Just delicious!
And here are a couple of Huffman's Hotties

Quilt of Valor made by Serena
on the right!
This quilt will be awarded by

Thanks so much for your thoughtful
and beautiful quilt donation Serena!
A U.S. Military Veteran will be
so honored to receive this!
And, Pammy Cakes shared her
version of "String Star" that she made
after my last workshop with this group
last fall.
BEAUTIFUL JOB!!!!!
After lunch, the strata were coming together!
All in beautiful, different colors!
Press those seams flat!
How about we cut those strata
and be crazy, and piece them back together???
LOLOLOL
That's what we quilters do!
Slice fabric apart and sew them back together!
Ta Dah!
Love those highlights and lowlights
in this piece!
Great job!
WOOOHOOOO!
Sides are being placed on now
for that center diamond design!
Great color combos!
