I must be doing something right.....

Was anyone else wondering what the key to Easy Street is?  I know I was!  And then, it hit me!  I thought to myself, and I said, "Self.....you KNOW the key to easy street is............"

OK, so, maybe Annie, isn't the key to this Easy Street Mystery?  But, every time I say those words, "Easy Street" I immediately think of the song from the Broadway Musical Annie.  I think I have every word memorized from my childhood, and more recently from my niece's.  I am pretty sure she watched it every day for full year?

I have been enjoying my journey on this "Easy Street" thus far.  I think the key to THIS Easy Street Mystery is the Easy Angle Ruler!  I am so pleased Bonnie Hunter of Quiltville introduced me to it through this online mystery quilt.  SO far, the measurements have been very accurate with the Easy Angle Ruler, and SO far everything has fit together beautifully!  Here are the results of step #3:
  Love that Easy Angle Ruler!
All units for #3 completed awaiting a trim.

I have loved seeing and interacting with many of the participants of this mystery quilt.  Keep up the good work everyone!  http://quiltville.blogspot.com/2012/12/mystery-monday-link-up-part-3.html

Thanks for all of the encouragement!

  3. Easy Street has taken over my life so much that my decorations are only just up today. I like the cream with the yellow, it's looking good.

  4. Another Bonnie-blogger :)
Back in 2007/2008, I wrote a similar "first post" as you did a few days ago; I had just found Bonnie online and was a developing quilter at the time.
    Welcome to blogland!!!!

Your colorway is AMAZING; truly can't wait to see its progress.

  6. Great colors!! Of course I had to say that since you are using the same yellow/orange that I am. ;-) Keep up the good work and learning from a Bonnie quilt will make all the others easy.

  7. I love the colors you're using! And I agree with the Easy Angle and Companion Angle rulers. They're making the job SO much easier. I'm sorry I didn't know about them long ago. :) I can't wait to see your finished quilt.

  9. I love your primary colors! Can't wait to see what Bonnie has in store for us next. The video clip took me back a ways! I haven't seen Annie in years. Makes me want to go see if they have it on Netflix....

  10. I'm still listening to the video clip! LOL Very fitting for this, my first mystery! I was always worried about doing triangles before learning about the Easy Angle ruler from Bonnie. I'm not worried about them any more! And the flying geese were a breeze!
    Happy Sewing!

  12. Ahhh...The Sacred Rulers. Yes, it is fun for an old dog like me to lears some new tricks. I never seem to use them except at mystery time though.

  14. Sorry about the Ladies remark, it's great to see someone of the male persuasion doing this challange. It has been too long a female dominated area (mostly).
Love your cat . The colours you are using are very different It will be wonderful to see how everyone's quilt looks.

  16. Congratulations on starting a blog. You're right, it is very addictive. I am constantly thinking to myself, "I need to blog about this!!" Love the colors you are using for Easy Street. I started one with the colors Bonnie picked out, then I couldn't stop thinking about another colorway - so I'm making two!! Then I see all the other wonderful choices and I have to keep telling myself that I already have too much to do, I can't start ANOTHER one!

    Keep up the good work!
