Many informative posts about tidying up your scraps will begin
our mystery this year.
If you have a system that already works for you, WONDERFUL!
I will be sharing my tips for scrap management
along with some things that help me stay on top of
my scraps and stash.
In my next post, I will be sharing the colors I have used
along with APPROXIMATE yardage amounts.
I wonder if any blues will be used???? HMMMM????
I wonder if there will be any stars????? HMMM????
(Please understand, this is my first online mystery.....and it uses scraps....
it is almost impossible to share EXACT yardage amounts.)
Let's all just have fun, and not get caught up in perfection!
This mystery will be made using the
(Please click the link above to see if you
already have these in your arsenal of supplies.)
I look forward to sharing this mystery with you all!
Let's use up those scraps!
See you soon!
Thanks for all of the encouragement!
Keep on Quilting!

Sounds intriguing, Kevin, but I just don't do mysteries. I wait for the reveal and then decide if I need to work it into the schedule.
ReplyDeleteTri Recs tools, huh? Did you know those come in a mini size--and I have them (of course I do). : )
Sounds like fun. I'm hoping to jump in with other scrappers.
ReplyDeleteWoo hoo Kevin! I have done several quilt alongs but never a mystery so I am looking forward to it! Yes I already have the triangle tools still in the package!!! This will be a perfect opportunity to finally open and use them!!! Would you say this quilt is intermediate? I do not consider myself past an intermediate quilter so hopefully I can keep up!
ReplyDeleteKevin, if you are doing this quilt, it has to be fun and scrappy, so I am in. I even own a Tri Recs (unused). Can't wait!
ReplyDeleteI am currently hosting my third mystery quilt. Like you, I use scraps, so your readers should realize there is nothing to lose! Those who haven't done a mystery before because they are afraid they won't like it, this is the time to go for it. Using up the bits leftover, with little steps once a month allows you to create, have fun, and maybe end up with a treasure. If you don't like it, a charity quilt top is done. But either way, you reduce the scrap pile and that is a good thing. Can't wait to see your design, Kevin!
ReplyDeleteLet the mystery begin.
ReplyDeleteSqueal! I have never done a mystery quilt, but I am IN on this one for sure! How could I resist this master of ceremonies? I have about given up on scrap organization. In fact, I've decided to throw the contents of all my scrap baskets into clear garbage bags and dump (ah, I mean graciously donate) all of them on my "seven sisters" group at our retreat next weekend.
ReplyDeleteHow exciting--we've been waiting for a while for this event to become real. Hurry June 29th
ReplyDeleteThis will be fun, have the date marked and look forward to posting my progress.
ReplyDeleteWOOHOO! A Kevin pattern! YEAH!!!
ReplyDeleteI guess it's time to unwrap those tri-recs templates I've been hoarding for several years! Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait! I marked my calendar.
ReplyDeleteExciting
ReplyDeleteI think I have half of the tri recs duo. I'll have to check. I know I've never used them before. I did get 2 new blues out of the scrap bin today, and I LOVE stars! Not like I need a new project or anything.....
ReplyDeleteI'm SEW excited!!! Off to check my stash...
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to this new adventure!
ReplyDeleteHow exciting my friend! A summer mystery quilt by Kevin. So looking forward to getting my scrappy on!
ReplyDeleteYay!!! I am going to have knee surgery later this month, so I hope I can get the first clue cut before standing to cut is uncomfortable!! I was just gifted a bunch of scraps for another quilt and I'll be using them to create both quilts! One thing to do with a quilt top that doesn't turn out like one expects is to use it as a backing for another quilt...that way you get a beautiful two-sided quilt! This will be the first mystery that I actually do as a mystery!
ReplyDeletesounds exciting maybe at last I will get used to the tri rec tool, have struggled for some reason when I have tried it in the past. Had a good scrap sort out this week and have decided to make fabric baskets for each colour this week
ReplyDeleteCant wait!! Let the fun begin!!!
ReplyDeleteOooh very tempting. I may have to play along, I have stash that really needs to get into a quilt. Now that the graduation quilts are all done, I can add a few new projects to play with.
ReplyDeleteI'm excited to start this mystery quilt journey with you! I just checked my work schedule and I'm off on the 29th so I can sew all day!! Hooray for me!
ReplyDeletelooking forward to playing along, my scrappy user system could use some help.I love the units the tri rec tool makes. love all your past projects, can't imagine it not being wonderful. scrappy makes me happy.thanks for all the work you are putting in to this for your followers.
ReplyDeleteSounds good, will be looking for it at the end of the month.
ReplyDeleteGoody Goody! I cannot wait for the fun to begin! Hip Hip Hooray for Kevin!

ReplyDeleteOooh im excited, love blue love stars and loooove a mystery. Cant wait, you are so generous doing this Kevin. I will be playing along across the ocean 😊
ReplyDeleteSounds like fun. I've been wanting to make a mostly blue quilt, and who doesn't love stars!
ReplyDeleteIs today the day for clue #1?! Can't wait!!
ReplyDeleteOK! Woohoo! Let's do this. :D Just last night I had the "kids" help me color-sort the latest mountain of scraps into the scrap bins after deep cleaning my storage area, and blues definitely have to get used. A scraps Mystery called "Sapphire" = Serendipity. :D :D
