Block Drive Winners announced..........

Let me preempt this by saying a HUGE THANK YOU to my neighbor Mark of Heartland Hunters for making this video!
He and I are NOT, I repeat, NOT professional videographers!
We do NOT own professional equipment or lighting.
I am not perfect, and I get tongue tied at times! LOL
Now, enjoy the video........and hopefully YOU won something????
(BTW, when I say I am going on vacation, that was just a joke because so many of you have said that I will need one when this block drive is over! LOL)

I am SOOOOOOOO very excited to share with you all the winners of the QOV Block Drive and a BIG CONGRATULATIONS to all of the winners!  I have said it before, and I will say it again..........this block drive has far exceeded my expectations, and I am now a firm believer in the generosity of quilters! I want to take this time to thank each and every one of you who have donated to this drive......making blocks, donating prizes, donating other items to make the quilts, or simply donating your time!  I want each of you to know what a hero and champion you are for Veterans!  We HAVE made a difference here, and will continue to do so through our efforts with this drive!

For those of you who know me, and my analytic mind, I have a few numbers for you all to digest:

5,680 blocks were received

1,136 entries into the drawings for prizes

And here are the top 10 states that had the most entries:

Missouri - 110 entries

Illinois - 98 entries

Texas  - 88 entries

North Carolina - 59 entries

Pennsylvania - 59 entries

New York - 58 entries

Ohio - 45 entries

California - 40 entries

Florida - 34 entries

3-way tie for 10th place between:
Maryland, Michigan, and Washington - 32 entries

LaVerne with the Jacksonville Area Sr. Center in Illinois sent in the most blocks!

Again, here are the winners, and you will be receiving your prizes VERY soon!

4th Place:  Kathleen in Katy, Texas

3rd Place:  Jane in St. Charles, Illinois

2nd Place:  Kristine in Taylor, Utah

1st Place Grand Prize Winner:  Judy J. in McKinney, Texas

Congratulations to one and all for such a successful block drive!

Thanks for all of the encouragement!
Thanks for all of the support with this block drive!

  6. What a successful Block Drive for a great cause! So happy to see that two of the winners come from my Lone Star State of Texas where I've lived for the past 25 years. I live just about 10 miles South of McKinney. Lot's of Quilt shops up there. Also happy to see my home state of Illinois with a winner. I drove through St Charles at least a bazillion times to/from DeKalb where I attended Northern Illinois. I was honored to be a small part of this project and look forward to seeing more pictures as these quilts are completed and presented to our much deserving Veterans. Way to go!

  11. I printed out the stats on Monday, and read them to my little quilt guild. We are all stunned at how this block drive took off. Sew wonderful! I love that the state I live in (Illinois) and my home state (TEXAS) were some of the biggest contributors and also winners. Hmmm....St Charles, IL is not that far from me, I wonder if I know 'Jane'.
