I'm a chick magnet...........

We interrupt this blog for an announcement!

I am pleased to share with you all.......

THE CHICKS ARE STARTING TO HATCH!!!!!!

Here is a shortened video of the first little chicken hatching.
It is a little blurry in the beginning, but, then gets much better!

I am a little bit excited, as if you couldn't tell!

I am even more excited about the response to
Scrap Club!

Please allow me some time to get these babies taken
care of, and I will make a post about
Scrap Club
Online!

Thank you all for your interest in everything
that goes on here at the Quilt Cave!

Thanks for all of the encouragement!
Thanks for being a friend!
I am a chicken daddy!

  4. Totally awesome!!! Congratulations, daddy, on your first chick!!! What breed is it and have you figured out how to sex it yet??? Getting out of that shell was quite the exhausting adventure for that little one...hard not to want to help it out but it needs to do it on its own. Keep the pictures of your new harem coming!!

Loved watching the video such effort to get out of that shell, somehow I imagined they would be fluffy yellow chicks not black ones, can see you will busy watching as they grow and no doubt being amused with their antics, happy fatherhood.

  15. Congrats!!! I always get so excited when the eggs start to hatch. Then I become impatient and turn off the video. Then the chick gives a big kick... Then I turn on the video and it stops. You know the process. Thanks for being patient and smart enough to get the video right. Can't wait to see all the fluffy fun. Hoping you have a great hatch percent!

  24. That's so cool. Thanks for sharing. Our neighbor raised chickens, they'll eat all the bugs in the yard, they said they don't even hear crickets anymore.

  25. Kevin, you always crack me up! It is so neat that you find fun in things other people dismiss, like chickens and scraps. A bags of good quality scraps always gets my mental juices going.
