Scrap Club.....

Hey Everybody!

It seems that there is so much going on in blog land these days.

SOOOOOOOOOOOO many projects to whet one's creative appetite!

I have been questioning myself........
Should I add to the many, many, many avenues of artistic undertakings that are out there?

(Some piecing I have worked on this past week.)

I have heard from several of you that would be interested in me sharing Scrap Club via my blog?

I would be happy to do so, however, I would really want a show of hands (so to speak) so I know I wouldn't be wasting my time or yours?  The last thing I want to do is bore anyone here!

If there is a lot of interest, I will share a post of everything that Scrap Club is about.
You certainly can participate from where you are and utilize your scraps!
I also don't want to dissuade anyone who is local to not come because of this?

Please REPLY to this post so I know whether to follow through or not?

Thanks again for your nice comments and response to Scrap Club!

In other news.........

Here is an interesting video on
chicken embryo development.
I find this utterly fascinating!
The eggs are at day 14!
1 week left before hatching!
I! AM! SO! EXCITED!

My long awaited parcel arrived in the mail!
Bonnie has had an overwhelming response to
her most recent publication, "Addicted to Scraps."
I wanted to wait to order mine until she had received
her latest shipment, because I wanted to buy from the author herself!
I can't wait to use the amazing "Essential Triangle Tool" she
developed.

I was also able to visit with my blogging friend Cheryl of
as she was driving through St. Louis this past week.
Here we are, posing for our close up
You can read all about her road trip and
the items she found along the way here.
Thanks for having dinner with me Cheryl!

Don't forget to reply to this post if you are interested in me sharing Scrap Club via my blog?
Thanks for all of the encouragement!
Keep on Quilting!

  1. Hi Kevin, I AM interested in finding out about Scrap Club. I use Bonnie's scrap system - sort of. I keep lots of smaller pieces segregated as half square triangles, squares, etc. Maybe a little OCD. I liked your Christmas tree pattern and plan to make it for next year. Since I am from Canada, I can not come to your club. I do, however, enjoy your teaching style and enthusiasm. You can count me in if you do the blog scrap club. Liz

  2. I didn;t want to seem greedy or take away from your local group - OR I would have definitely asked for you to share with us. I was looking for a specific backing and mistakenly opened the extra large tub of bags of gifted scraps I haven't even looked at yet - OH the glory that is in there. YES - my hand is up.

  12. If I read about your scrap club, then maybe I'll finally start using some of my scraps. I used 3 of the eggs you gave me, to make a corn spoon bread recipe tonight. YUM! (I'm sure the eggs made it even better). Thanks!

  14. I would like to hear about the Scrap club. I am not local and have a hard time getting out to any quilt things in my area. Thanks for sharing.

  15. Scrap Club sounds like fun, but if it would be too much extra work for you, keep it at your local shop. We will still ooh and aah over the scrappy goodness!!

  16. My hand is up for the blog Scrap Club, I'm in the Pacific NW. You will love Bonnie's new tool/ruler. It blew me away, everything came out perfect :-)

  18. Once again, I am trying to refrain from SALs this year (other than a couple of doll quilt SALs I allow myself). I was able to finish so many UFOs last year by keeping a stiff backbone and not caving in to the temptations online, as I have every other year. But that doesn't mean I don't love seeing what everyone else is creating.

  19. Im so excited with the chook development, heck you will be shearing sheep next ;) You had me at scraps but you have enough of a work load as well as your classes etc, dont spread yourself too thin.

  21. An online scrap club project sounds right up my alley! I don't live anywhere near where you're presenting Scrap Club so it would never interfere with your classes. I love seeing your blog entries and agree with 'sew surprising', don't spread yourself too thin even though we all enjoy seeing your great ideas.

  22. Oh!!! In one week you are gonna be a daddy!!! So very excited and hope you take lots of pictures and videos!!! 36. I am definitely interested in the "Scrap Club". That being said, I don't want to create any more work for you than you already have. I know what it is like to work full time and still keep all the other balls rolling. So, no worries if you need to keep it local. I'll just have to move to MO! Speaking of MO, I love the quilt in the background photo with the "arch"! Good luck with the chicks.

  47. I opened "one last box" that had to go to my quilt room from the garage and discovered several jumbo size bags of leftover fabric from about 2002-09. Humph, as if I needed more! Now that scrap quilters have thoroughly captured my attention, I'd love another place to go for inspiration! Bonnie is queen, but I love the way you channel her while adding yourself to the mix. Wish I lived nearby, but thanks for thinking of us "remote" quilters!

  63. You can count me in for the bloggy version a the Scrap Club, but only if you feel you've got enough time to devote to it. It takes a lot of time to write those kind of posts and sometimes it's better to just have the time to sew since you have a "day" job on the side.

Love your piecing units. Your selection of fabrics are wonderful.
