June and part of July in photos.....

Whew!  It feels like this summer is FLYING by!  I can't believe how many things have come and gone already this year that I have looked forward to!

PHOTO HEAVY POST!!!!!

You have been warned! LOL

My quilting friend, Bev, gave me my first lesson on her long arm quilting machine named, Miss Thang!
 Me quilting on Miss Thang!
I was able to celebrate my sis' (cough)th birthday!
I made her this table runner out of drapery fabric remnants using
this "10 Minute Table Runner" tutorial.
Celebrated Father's Day with my dad and family!
Watched my quilting friend Ann, of  Attic Threads put the last few quilting
stitches in "Golden Rings."

 Photos of the backing.....
More pics of this quilt coming soon!

Celebrating my parent's 50th Wedding Anniversary!

I cut out my next project, 2500+ pieces!
I wonder what it could be????
HMMMMMMMMM?????

I have almost completed all of the memory quilts I was requested to make for my brother-in-law's family.
I will be sharing those, along with the patterns I designed very soon!

The following are some of the quilts I saw (and loved) at the
International Quilt Festival in Chicago!

I love traditional, antique, AND modern quilts!

And finally, I was honored to be invited to judge the
Miss South Carolina Outstanding Teen Pageant...
with these wonderful people!
What a wonderful judging experience for me!

I hope everyone is having a great summer!  I know I am!
As always,
Thanks for all of the encouragement!

Happy 4th of July..........

I wanted to let everyone know my sister and I were able to throw a WONDERFUL Golden Wedding Anniversary reception for our AMAZINGLY, AMAZING PARENTS!

My handsome dad and beautiful mother on their wedding day!

And here they are today!
I am SO VERY proud of them!

The whole Hee-Haw gang!
(Yes, that's mom and dad's original cake topper!)

Mom and Dad's wedding party.
(Aunt Doris was the photographer, Aunt Flossie Sue was the maid of honor, Mom and Dad, and Uncle Bobby, the man responsible for introducing the couple to each other, was the best man.)

Unfortunately,I pulled my back out a week before the festivities!  It happens, and I am usually out of commission for a few days, but, it hung around and hung around this time!  After several chiropractic treatments, I was able to participate and finish  "Golden Rings", my gift to mom and dad.  I am going to be sharing some photographs of the amazing quilting my friend Ann of Attic Threads did on the quilt as soon as I can get back to my parents home and take them.

But first,......

This week, I will be travelling to South Carolina to judge the Miss South Carolina Outstanding Teen Pageant.  It is the official state preliminary to Miss America's Outstanding Teen Pageant.  I usually enjoy a good road trip every now and then, and I will be driving there.  That way, I can stop when and where I want to!  I am sure I will be making many stops along the way to stretch my back out!  Surely some antique malls have my name on them waiting for me to browse through them?  And, no doubt, a quilt shop or two, or three, or.......well, you get the idea!

Happy Birthday to the United States of America!
Thanks for all of the encouragement!
