Party Hardy............

Holiday time is a time to celebrate with friends and family.

It's especially fun when you can celebrate with quilting friends.

December birthdays provide a great backdrop for entertaining as well.

Come join me in my past week of partying.........not quite like a rock star!

It was another 4 patch party with Bonnie this weekend!
It's so great being able to share this mystery "party"
with quilters from all over the world!

All of the information about Bonnie's mystery may be found

Bonnie provides such helpful hints with these mysteries.
My Accuquilt Studio helped me breeze through
clues 1 and 3!
I am very curious how these 4 patches are going to play in the quilt!
HMMMMMMMMMMM?!?!?!?!

4 patch units ready to be sewn at the machine.

It's so much fun seeing Alycia using a patriotic color pallet!

Linking up with Bonnie's

Thanks to so many of you who commented on the
"Oh, Christmas Tree"  mini quilt tutorial I shared last week.
I have enjoyed seeing several of these
being made by various blogging friends
over the internet.

I was able to travel down to the boot heel of Missouri
to celebrate my friend Flo's 80th birthday.
Her family threw a wonderful party for her.
As some of you know, in my former life, I worked
with the Miss Missouri Scholarship Pageant.
Flo introduced me to the organization.
It was great visiting with her, my friend Jackie, and
several former pageant contestants.
What a difference Flo has made in so many people's lives,
mine included!

I was also able to host the Christmas party for
my quilting group in Troy, Missouri.
Here we are holding up the mug rugs
that we exchanged.

The lovely Marcia shows the mug rugs displayed on my
design wall.

This is the mug rug/candle mat I made for the exchange.

There was a ton of good food!
No taste testing ladies! LOL

And we were able to work on a take away project
and play several games.

Here is the Christmas ornaments we made.
I found out about these through my friend Cheryl of

She had one of her groups working on them and they
looked like so much fun to make!

You may find the video tutorial on how to make them

A wonderful time was had by all!

In other news...........

Christmas has come a little early to me this year.

My quilting buddy Bev is moving to Texas.
She and her husband Tom have been so generous to me
as they are downsizing.
This is a wonderful counter and cabinet unit that is going
to work out great in my studio!
There are many more additions they
have made to my home here at the Quilt Cave
and I can't thank them enough!
Thanks for being a friend Bev and Tom!

And my friend Ann of

revealed her mystery quilt

Here is the layout I chose in
a patriotic color scheme.
I love this design!
This will be another Quilt of Valor!

I hope you all are enjoying this Christmas season!
Keep on Quilting!
Thanks for all of the encouragement!

  6. Ho, Ho, Ho! You guys do have loads of fun. I think I gained 10 pounds just looking at the food. I love your layout and colors in your veteran's quilt. I did one in the same layout but in plain red, white and blue (aka boring) colors. So I am inspired to do my next one with touches of gold to spark it up. As usual, thanks for the inspiration.

  11. You are one very busy guy! I adore your mugrug and how you used tiny scraps to create the green star. I also like the sewing machine ornament from Shabby Fabrics. 13. Yes, the sewing machine ornaments are fun to make. Glad you enjoyed them. Looks like it was a fun party. Wego Quiltin' exchanged mug rugs last year, and we had some very creative ones. I like that QoV top. Have fun with the Bonnie Hunter mystery.

  14. I'm so enjoying seeing your EP units come to life friend Kevin! I managed to get half of mine stitched up last night and hope to finish them up and do a blog post by tonight. What a GREAT party!!!! You and your friends really know how to throw a party - and I absolutely adore your mug rug - can you tell me the finished size? I'm thinking about doing something similar for a few of my friends. You've inspired me once again! The little mug rug you gave me still sits on my bedside table and I treasure it.

  15. Looks like you had a great time, and no one went away hungry! LOL I'm looking forward to seeing your finished Quiltville mystery. I need to learn to get brave in making color changes. I have no problem doing it with published designs, but I'm not confident in my mysteries. Worried I'll pick the wrong focus, etc.

So glad you shared the other mystery as well. I'm adding it to my to-do list.

  16. Love your colour choice. My next quilt has to be blue - I keep promising myself and then getting distracted with other projects. My stash is bulging with the most gorgeous blues and neutrals but I can't bring myself to cut them up. Jamestown Landing is calling to me! Janet in London (englishquilter)

  17. I too like your choice of colours and fabrics for the Bonnie mystery quilt. I love to see how different they will look depending on those initial choices. Fun times with quilting friends and a home all decorated beautifully for the Christmas season. Oh yes, thanks for the tree tutorial. I've been struggling with sorting a tree I drew myself, sigh.

  18. You've been really busy sewing and celebrating. I really like both your Alycia's colors for En Provence. I just couldn't swing patriotic this year. A Scrappy End is going to be a great QOV, I love all that red!
