Thanksgiving blessings.......

Post Thanksgiving Greetings Quilters!
I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving spent with family and friends.
I can't tell you all how much I appreciate your friendship and support.
Thank you all for your kind words, prayers, and encouragement since my loss of
Sophia.  I would have loved to have hosted you all for Thanksgiving here at the
Quilt Cave, but, since I couldn't, allow me to share some photos from my
family celebration of Thanksgiving.

Happy Thanksgiving, from my family to yours!

Tommy Boy, my Royal Palm Tom Turkey
was pardoned this Thanksgiving.

Lilly Mae loves her MawMaw!

PawPaw doesn't spoil his girls at all!

Momma helped me clean up
before the rest of the family came.

And, of course, she helped me cook!
No one makes deviled eggs like my Momma!

Dad made his world famous Egg Sandwiches
for our breakfast.

Sis helped in the kitchen too!

The turkey turned out great!
This turkey was raised right here at the Quilt Cave.
I love being able to raise my own food.

MMMMM....Momma's mashed taters!

You ALL know this is the best part....
of course Grandma saved them for her
grand babies to lick!

Brother in law always does a nice
job of carving the turkey.

Time to give thanks for all God has provided us.

Then it was time to dig in!
Ladies first, of course.

Our meal was delicious, as usual.

Just ask Lilly Mae......

or Abigail Rose.....

or Salvador AKA Kitty Boy.
I am so happy Daddy continues this tradition
with the new additions to my family.
Even though Sophia wasn't here to get her
annual bite of Turkey.

Sis and her family.

How on earth did these babies get this big!
Lil Bubs wants to grow as tall as me....
he is getting there!

This was as good of shot as we could get
with the fur babies.

And then, a nice afternoon nap
while Lilly is on the look out!

Our annual Scrabble game....
I hate to boast, but......
I mopped the floor with everyone,
and won! LOLOL

It was a blessed Thanksgiving Day.
Then, the next all know what happened.....

The first clue for Bonnie Hunter's

I love making 4 patches.....
and I find using this kid's lap table
is most convenient to spin those seams on
while watching....or at least listening
to television.

In other news.........

My friend Tea has been keeping me
laughing, and in stitches,
helping me take my mind off of things.
Look how she is dressed, matching the scraps!

I also held a "Gracie Lu's Rail Fence"
workshop with the
Quilt Guild in O'Fallon, IL.

These sisters are always so much fun
to have in class!

WOW!  Look at this spring like
version of the #SSSSQ!
Thanks for playing along!

We had a very nice workshop,
and look at all of these great
variations the quilters
worked on.
Thanks for hosting me!

I have also participated in
"Seeing Stars"
block swap this year.
Her swaps are always so enjoyable!
These will be mailed off soon.

I have some exciting things to share in the next
couple of weeks pertaining to the upcoming holidays.
I hope you all will be watching and participating!
Thanks again for your love, friendship, and holding
me up.

Thanks for all of the encouragement!
Keep on Quilting!
Kevin the Quilter

  1. Kevin, so glad to see your roasted turkey. I have been getting comments that eating turkey is gross. And yet these people think nothing of eating fast food junk, including burgers with who knows what added. I am doing the modern stars swap also. Wonderful family and Tea looks like she is having fun with scraps- the best kind of fun!

  2. Kevin, once again your family photos are just so loving and fun!! Thanks for sharing your Thanksgiving with everyone.
Your fur babies are adorable... I'll bet they love Thanksgiving as much as you do!
Can't wait to see what you've cooking up next (quilt-wise, that is!!). VBG

  3. Looks like a lovely Thanksgiving celebration, Kevin. Thanks for including the quilt-y bits, too!!!

  4. You have such a lovely family. How much you all care for each other is evident and such a blessing. I do believe you will need a leaf in your table if you invite any more people for dinner!!! It is always fun to see your baby girls and feathered friends!! Thank you for sharing your celebration with all of us and congratulations on cleaning up in scrabble!!

  5. Such a lovely family and wonderful that you get to celebrate some time with them.

  6. Sounds like your family had a wonderful time over Thanksgiving. Me, well I hosted 15 people here, 9 of which were grandchildren ages 3 - 16. Have fun with Bonnie's mystery and I'm looking forward to seeing what other quilty projects you come up with. Happy Stitching!

  7. I love your friend Tea. She is the most fun and coolest lady.
I love all of the pictures you shared Kevin. You have a good family and that makes my heart happy
We celebrated Thanksgiving at my sister in Silver Spring MD just an hour away, and my dad of course, hubbs and I took him along from Loudoun County Virginia, and my daughters brought their adorable families and all of the grand babies.
    Family is the best.

  8. I am glad you were able to enjoy a great Thanksgiving with your family and that Tommy Boy, he does look rather regal, was pardoned. You must not have named the one that wasn't. :-)

  9. Lovely photos of your loving, happy family! If Norman Rockwell was still around, he'd want to paint YOUR Thanksgiving. It's iconic :)

  10. Looks like you've been having some fun with friends and family. Good for you!!

  11. I love being a part of your Thanksgiving and seeing all the fun and love being shared. Wish I could have been there for the Scrabble game to see how good you really are. My Mom and I have had a game every Tuesday for over a decade, and now my brother and older sister join the fun.

  12. What a great Thanksgiving! Love seeing your family pictures! Thanks for sharing!

  13. We have to keep each other up to keep going
    Blessings my friend

  14. Looks like a wonderful Family Thanksgiving! Do you prepare the turkey yourself, like actually butchering it?
    The stars are gorgeous !

  15. Found your blog through the blog hop. We really need more male quilter's and I am glad I found your blog. In the Netherlands I only know one.
Loved your thanksgiving pictures, we don't have that holiday here but I love the idea of giving thanks. So sorry for the loss of your beloved Sophia Annabella.

  16. As always love see you photo even if I dont see them right away the bes of the Holidays to you and your family. Merry Christmas.

  17. Just found your blog through Humble Quilts. Loved these family pictures! Looking forward to reading more about your quilting adventures and more. Jan in MA

  18. Glad you had a fun Thanksgiving with your family. I'm waiting to find out what's coming up with you.
